Our current exhibit, "A Window to the Past -- A Day on the Farm in 1844" features artifacts from the Historical Society's collection of "cleverly" conceived interactive displays that are fun and educational for kids of all ages. Admission to the Heritage Center is $2:00 for adults, $1 for children under 12. Custom tours of the park and nearby attractions are available. Please contact us for details.

The Heritage Center Museum Store
The newly-renovated Heritage Center Museum Store features unique and unusual gifts, many crafted by Shore artisans. Most items are under $25.

The Heritage Center Museum is wheelchair accessible.

Pemberton Hall
Pemberton Hall was built in 1741 for Isaac and Ann (Dashiell) Handy. This 18th century manor house provides a glimpse into early American life. Your guide will turn the clock back to 1741 and you will see a typical day in the life of the Handys.

Pemberton Historical Park
The Heritage Centre and Pemberton Hall are located at Pemberton Historical Park. This lovely riverside park allows picnicing and hikes along guided nature trails. Pemberton Park is a peaceful, charming step back in time. Explore the wondrous blend of land, water and wildlife. Imagine life on the Shore as it might have been in the 18th century; when water was a primary mode of transportation. When life was simple. When man's survival depended on harmony with nature. A full-time naturalist assists visitors and presents special programs for children and adults.

Rockawalkin School
One-room Rockawalkin School is a typical rural school house built about 1872 and was used as a school unitl 1938. In 1973 the school building was moved to the site at Pemberton Elementary School and later restored. Now the building serves as a museum of early education in the county.

Nutters Election House
The Nutters Election House was built in 1938 and was used until 1976. It is the only election house still standing in Wicomico County which was built to be an election house. Balloting generally was done in private in homes, churches or neighborhood stores. The museum contains the Society's collection of presidential and inauguration memorabilia and political campaign items. The building is located at the water pumping station in Fruitland. Admission is by appointment. Please contact the Wicomico Historical Society.
